Train history FAQs
What does train history show?
It shows how a train actually ran on a journey that has already finished: every station on its route with the scheduled and actual arrival and departure times, the delay at each stop in minutes, the platform it used, the distance from the origin, and the final coach order from the engine.
How do I check the history of a train?
Enter the 5-digit train number, pick the date the train started from its origin station, and tap Show train history. The page lists the whole journey station by station.
Why does it say no history record was found?
A history record is saved only after the train has reached its destination. If the journey hasn't finished yet, the train didn't run on that date, or the train number or date is wrong, there is nothing to show. For a train that is still on its way, use live running status instead.
Which date should I pick for an overnight train?
Pick the date the train left its origin station, not the date it reached you. A train that left Howrah on the 15th and reached Delhi on the 16th is filed under the 15th.
What do the delay colours mean?
Green means on time or up to 5 minutes late (or early). Amber means 6–29 minutes late. Red means 30 minutes or more. They are a quick visual cue only — the exact minutes are always shown.
What do SRC and DSTN mean in the times?
SRC marks the origin station, which has no arrival time because the train starts there. DSTN marks the destination station, where the train ends its journey. They are shown as Origin and Destination.
What is the coach position?
It is the final coach order recorded for that journey, listed from the engine (position 0) to the last coach. Coach order can differ between journeys, so check the platform display on the day you travel.
