How we handle data and claims
Trust is the whole product. These are the standards we hold ourselves to for what we show, what we claim, and what we do with your data.
A prediction site is only worth using if you can trust what it tells you. That trust is easy to spend and hard to earn back, so we've written down the rules we work to. They're not aspirational — they describe how the product is actually built.
How we talk about predictions
We communicate predictions as predictions, never as guarantees. Every estimate carries a confidence level, and we're explicit about how sure we are: a result grounded in plenty of comparable history is presented differently from a broad estimate. When our confidence is low, we say so rather than rounding it up into something reassuring. How each level is derived is set out in the methodology.
Data & sources
We don't fabricate figures. Train numbers, names, fares, seat availability, statistics and probabilities are either drawn from a real source or not shown at all. Where a tool depends on a live data source we haven't connected — fares, availability, live status, seat maps — the page says so plainly and points you to what we can do, instead of filling the gap with plausible-looking but invented data.
Reporting accuracy
We report accuracy from real outcomes as they accumulate, not from a number chosen because it sounds impressive. If we don't yet have enough resolved cases to speak meaningfully, the accuracy page explains that limitation rather than presenting a figure we can't stand behind. A trustworthy "we don't know yet" beats a confident number with nothing behind it.
Your data
We never store your raw PNR. To fetch a status we pass it to a railway data source, and to recognise repeat checks we keep only a one-way, salted hash from which the original can't be recovered. The record of your recent checks lives on your device, not on our servers, and there are no accounts to create. The full picture is in the privacy policy.
Corrections
We get things wrong sometimes — a prediction can miss, and copy can contain errors. When something we've stated is inaccurate, we correct it rather than quietly leaving it. If you spot something, telling us via the contact page is the fastest way to get it fixed.
Independence
Aspect is an independent tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to IRCTC or Indian Railways, and it doesn't sell tickets. Our aim is to help you understand your chances and the system around them — nothing on the site should be read as an official railway communication.
